Who I am:
Greetings to all antique, classic, and for the Germans, “Oldtimer“ enthusiasts. I’m Shirley Girard, and I live in Stuttgart. I’ve been in Germany since 1991 and am working my way into restarting my calling, namely, restoration of antique, sport, and experimental airplanes and gliders, predominantly building nad restoring wings and fabric covering . Before moving to Germany I practiced my trade for 15 years, three as an apprentice, and twelve as Mudflap Aviation, working predominately alone, and traveling occasionally. My husband Bill and I have three kids, daughter #1 works in an animation studio in Hollywood, daughter #2, who just finished her degree in international tourism management, and son, 19, who starts college this fall. Bill works as pianist, coach and conductor at the Stuttgart State Opera, which is why we’re here in “das Vaterland“.
